I'm kicking around playing in the $100K guaranteed tourney on Bodog today and was curious if anyone had any tips. Normally, I would never consider playing in a tourney with a $100 buy in, but I'll be free rolling. I finished in the Top 3 of a tourney a few years ago and this was what I got for it. I've just never had the time to devote to playing. Anyway, thoughts, suggestions, etc. are all encouraged.

This is a great trny to play. The competition is relatively soft and there is usually a large overlay on this. I would just play it pretty tight early on and don't get too cute. Don't try and isolate too much as you will get multiple callers most of the time. Cash games play totally different than tournaments. If you happen to build up a stack early, don't go crazy with it and try and push the table around a lot as you will end up just dumping your chips. Play your hands for value and try and avoid the donks sucking out on you. Around the bubble, if you have a big stack, use that to pressure your opponents by raising a lot, but not by using a lot of chips. Put pressure on with 2.5x bb raises and make them come ott to play. You want to pressure middle stacks this way. Short stacks will gamble it up a bit so be careful there and other big stacks will cause you problems also. GL with this!

So I finished just barely out of the money in 567th place. Lost with 99 when I rivered a set to the SB who limped with AA and flopped a set. At least it was a free roll.
