Sorry if this isn't super interesting.. it was the hand I was most unsure about from today. Would you raise preflop (very limpy table, and my thinking was a. this isn't a particularly strong hand and b. I really want as many hangers on as I can because if I hit either hi or lo I'll likely have the nuts so the more the merrier). More importantly, would you drive the four-flush, backdoor nut low draw on the flop? I think there's probably some maths that'll show whether it's worthwhile getting 3 or 4 more small bets in the pot? Grabbed by Holdem Manager Limit Hi-Lo Omaha $0.05(BB) Replayer SB ($1.74) BB ($2) UTG ($1.50) UTG+1 ($1.58) UTG+2 ($2.52) Hero ($5) MP2 ($2.60) MP3 ($4.75) CO ($3.30) BTN ($3.60) Dealt to Hero 2:spade: A:diamond: J:diamond: 6:spade: UTG calls $0.05, fold, UTG+2 calls $0.05, Hero calls $0.05, fold, fold, fold, fold, SB calls $0.03, BB checks FLOP ($0.25) 9:diamond: Q:diamond: 8:spade: SB checks, BB bets $0.05, UTG folds, UTG+2 calls $0.05, Hero calls $0.05, SB calls $0.05 TURN ($0.45) 9:diamond: Q:diamond: 8:spade: T:diamond: SB checks, BB checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets $0.10, SB calls $0.10, BB calls $0.10, UTG+2 folds RIVER ($0.75) 9:diamond: Q:diamond: 8:spade: T:diamond: 4:heart: SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.10, SB calls $0.10, BB folds Also, random question - normally I play 5NL so I'm used to having say $10 or so at stake in a session - what level limit O8 would you play in my shoes? Today I played 5c/10c and I never really felt like much more than $1 was at stake. Also, I didn't feel at risk of losing at all, such was the level of the competition, so I figure I can keep on moving up til I find my place. Ta, D

Nope, once I'd made my hand I played it as fast as was possible, so I was wondering if I could earn more by betting before I made it. Thinking about it mathematically, I figure I have 9 diamond outs twice, but I'd have to discount that a little - if it's an ace or a two and another low card comes out I may only get half the pot and if it's otherwise low I could win only 3/4s.. so maybe I have the equivalent of ~6 outs to scoop so about [edit to correct terribly wrong maths!] 25% winning chance on the flop. So I need to be able to get a 4x return on any speculative bet, and so I guess the answer is no there aren't quite enough players left in the pot for a bet on the flop to be profitable? [Edit2] I dunno.. maybe I'm being too pessimistic calling it 6 outs.. any two non-flush non-A-2 low cards give me some winnings.. if we could call it 7 or 8 then I'd just barely have the odds to raise.. I'm just thinking out loud at this point..
