Hey guys, I am Perrygarl. Llike others I am a micro-stakes player. After a while playing this game for fun I am starting to improve my game. I play with a group of friends in a poker league and we go to a poker tournament at our local casino once a month to play for bigger payouts, so far at least one of the group has got to the final table (although the closest I got to the top ten is 15th, but we only done this for three months.) we play a weekly cash game together and the play skills of some of the players there has forced me to improve my game. I have been in South Korea for two months now, heading back home in the UK in 4 days time. Online gambling is illegal here, so while waiting to play again I have been reading books and posting on 2+2. This was where I asked players which poker training website I should join, when I reach high-enough stakes. My second reply told me of Pokertrikz.com, and that it was micro-stakes and free, then join one of the paid-for sites when you have a large enough bankroll. I decided to check it out, admittedly already sceptical about it, but the first video I watch shows me just how well they play micro-stakes, I am now trying to put all videos I find useful onto my Ipod, in order to listen and watch regularly when I can. So I wanted to discuss with you something that I am doing, right now I started a challenge just before I left for my holiday. I placed $50 into Better Poker, and I am trying to reach my first poker milestone, $1000. So far, before leaving, I managed to get it up to between $220-$230 (approx). The bulk of this came from tournaments, but I am studying about cash games and trying to crack them, to build a consistent profit as I feel they give a more regular profit, when you learn how to beat a level. I have fallen in love with this game, and I really wish to try and crack this, to become a winning player and profit from this game. Right now I currently have a poker blog at "perrygarl.wordpress.com" (leave out quotation marks.) discussing how cash games and tournaments went, my views on certain things involving poker, and the occastional live event I play. I am also posting videos up on Pokertube (Pokertube.com ? A Video Community for Pokerplayers) under the name Perrygarl, also titled "The Perrygarl Challenge", where you can watch myself playing tournaments and cash games, hoping to profit. On both of these I encourage people to comment, whether positive or negative about my play and always try to reply back when I can. I would now like to be able to share specific hands to you guys when I am back playing (I find the forum hand history replayer a genius idea, and I am surprised that it is not used on other forum sites, don't worry I won't say a thing.), get your views on how I played it, and where I perhaps could have played hands better. At the same time, I will post some of my blog on the forums and will also answer to different threads here whenever I read the forums. I am mainly playing 0.02/0.04 and 0.05/0.10, due to my bankroll (I am trying to also show that strict bankroll management helps to improve a players chances of making money, and that it can turn anyone into a winning player.) I hope to go further when my bankroll ( I should perhaps say IF my bankroll grows, but I want to sound confident.) I hope you guys watch and enjoy when I am back at home, re-starting where I left off, and I hope you also participate and help during my challenge I look forward to hearing from you. This is an article I wrote on my "Perrygarl Challenge", about how mastering bubble play will make you much more in the long-run, for tournaments. I hope you enjoy it and comment on whether you think I have written something right, if I made a mistake in my opinion, or if I have left something out. http://perrygarl.wordpress.com/2008/...e-bubble-play/ Last edited by Perrygarl; 09-06-2008 at 06:50 AM.
