I do not really like your preflop call, but postflop is fine

"I do not really like your preflop call"

Yeah, should not have been there.

Snap fold pre.

Bet bigger on the turn.

I think the pre flop call is fine... its only .20 more and your potentially looking at a 4 way pot with a hand that plays well multi-way...

This flop is the kind of flop we want and you just got a little unlucky on the river... Due to stack sizes I really think there is no way Villian is folding out his TP type hand so this was destined to go his way no matter what you did.

I would like to hear the reasoning behind not playing JQ in a multi way pot

You're easily dominated, there are two short stackers in the pot, you're not suited and your position sucks.

[Ooops. I thought you had KQ in the hand. But hey I wrote a nice analysis so I'll just leave it.

My analysis for your actual hand:
QJ is only good for about 1 street of value in a multiway pot with one pair or you have to hit the flop hard, like 2 pair or a straight. Trips have the same problem of being dominated, so it's a red herring. QJ is a hand you pay other people off. That's why the reason to not play it in multiway raised pots, even at microstakes. It's just slightly better than 32 or 95o for these reasons. As played, just a bad beat.]

I don't like playing shortstacked, but once the decision is made preflop, you pretty much had to felt it once you hit your top pair, considering just how passively you played it. You live and die by your top pairs when shorstacked.

Assuming the other players are legit: You don't beat QJ or AQ, you're splitting with KQ, and the only hands you beat is likey QT or unlikely AJ of spades if he picked up a nice draw on the turn. And of course the back door draw scenario is very optimistic, thus unlikely. Obviously you're way behind to 55 or JJ. Basically you're mostly beat, splitting once, and ahead a few times when your opponent is just super aggressive (QT, AJs) or a superdonk (Q4 or something).

So your equity in this hand is close to par for a good Top pair hand at microstakes. It's a breakeven play. Not horrible but not a winning play either.

Board: 5s Jd Qc 7s
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 24.674% 24.67% 00.00% 2649 0.00 { KQs, KQo }
Hand 1: 75.326% 75.33% 00.00% 8087 0.00 { JJ, 55, AQs, AsJs, QTs+, Q4s, AQo }

This is why everybody says just fold this preflop. But I disagree. I think KQ is a ok hand to play at microstakes for one raise, especially shorstacked, even out of position. Unfortunately, this isn't the board to stack off on. You want to be ahead of all the hands YOU dominate, like QJ,QT that people might play strongly with one pair.

See how your equity in the hand changes with the right board:

Board: 5s 9d Qc 7s
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 54.104% 54.10% 00.00% 9427 0.00 { KQs, KQo }
Hand 1: 45.896% 45.90% 00.00% 7997 0.00 { 99, 55, AQs, As9s, QTs+, Q4s, AQo, QTo+ }
