Default The Immortal Nuts

Just another good reason to not slow play the nuts (vs. 10NL donks anyway)

No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (4 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Button ($13.17)
Hero (SB) ($27.86)
BB ($7.47)
UTG ($9.35)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K, J
2 folds, Hero raises $0.25, BB calls $0.20

Flop: ($0.60) A, Q, J (2 players)
Hero checks, BB checks

Turn: ($0.60) 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.60, Hero calls $0.60

River: ($1.80) 10 (2 players)
Hero bets $26, BB calls $6.57 (All-In)

Total pot: $14.94

Hero had K, J (Royal Flush)
BB had 10, K (straight, Ace high).
Outcome: Hero won $14.94

You flop the gutshot to the nuts with the nut flush draw and you have a pair, but you check the flop after being the preflop raiser heads up? Forget about the royal flush, what's THAT about?

I figured my play would bet criticized, and with good reason. I was playing the player. I had been consistently raising his BB and he always bet when I checked, but I think this time he tried to trap me or something because he flopped the nut straight.

Royal flushes!!!!! holy crap... I've never had one of those.. Although I did see them twice when playing live about 5 hands apart.... 1st one was with a guy holding the 2 missing cards.. the next one was a Royal Flush on the board... that was insane

you both played your hands weird o.O Why don't you value bet the turn crypt?
Hitting royal flushes is nice but they make the board look so scary that you can almost never get value. Still, makes you feel all warm inside Had a few of those but never got any value .
I prefer quads.

I did not bet the turn because the way he was playing earlier hands I was almost sure he would of folded, so I decided to take a different line.

If he's bad enough to call a bet on a 4flush board I think it's an easy call for him on the turn, unless you pot it. The times he folded previously he probably had less than TP. Besides, this is BoB where people don't want to fold anything
