I think, you should have raised in the first hand on the turn, so you get more value from every overpair, cause your shove on the river looks pretty strong and I think, that he would fold KK or QQ there. And if you play your hand, you don't know, if he has JJ, QQ or AA, so the backwards thinking "the result would have been the same" is right in this hand, but not in another hand. And since you never know, if you play in the hand, where your opponent has the AA or the KK you should always try to get max. value from the situation. And raising the turn >>> call the turn ![]() Well, and everybody has bad beats! Just look at this.... damm hand ^^ But you should not go on tilt here, cause this just happens from time to time. It's ok to lose 3 buyins in 500hands as long as you didn't make huge mistakes. You could lose 1 coinflip, you could lose 5 in a row, but you won't lose 50 coinflips in a row (mooooost of the time), so what really counts is the longrun. yeah, when i thought about it a turn raise was probably smart but in all honesty i see him making those bets on ace high and a turn will shut him down.. guess the 4 percent beat was penalty for greed... it ended up being a 4 buying loss session which happens, just frustrating that it comes after grinding breakeven soooo long..

Check my thread out in this section. I'm 20k breakeven @ 25nl (im usually 100nl reg) and had a sick downswing and running like shit. I know where you're coming from, but keep the mindframe that decisions are seperate from results and you'll be a better player.

In a way, a huge suck out is a reason to be happy. If the Villan sucks out with a 1% chance to win, that just means that you should win the next 99 times the same situation arises. For example... 25 NL, I'm in the BB with KK, MP raises to 0.85, 2 folds, SB calls, I reraise to 3.35, MP shoves, SB folds, I call. MP flips over JJ vs. my KK. Flop comes K 6 9 rainbow. Turn is a 10. River is a Q. MP wins my stack (only a buyin, it was my first hand at the table) with a runner runner straight V.s my over trips. After the flop JJ has a less than 2% chance to win, so I'm good the next 99 times (in theory). I just said, "nh" and rebought. |
