Default biggest swing ive had yet

About 4 days ago i was at ~850, played for 3 hrs and dropped all the way down to 250.
just got really unlucky. gettin beat by set over set, flopping nuts and getting runner runner out drawn.

but in the past 3 days ive gone from 250 up to ~1330 now so i can say im pretty damn happy.

trikkurs vid where he talks about how abc poker can actually bring bigger swings than very aggro helped me to not get too mad about it.

just wanted to share.

Uh... are you playing underrolled for your stakes? You're having swings of 10+ buys in 3 hours? I would go insane.

i was for a little while, when i dropped to 250 i played like 2 tables of 50nl and then 4 of 20 but like i said it was just a lot of bad luck and i feel really confident at 50nl.

I don't think this is true. It's generally accepted that the more aggressive your game, or the game you play in, the bigger the swings.

Well, that's basically the reason why people bust their rolls. They feel confident all the way to their last buy-in. If you keep thinking just sheer confidence will shield you from the natural run of cards, you're almost certain to go broke in the future.

I think it's a good idea to review all your big pots during your downswing. And post a few of them for others to give input. I doubt it was all just bad luck.

goinbanana,
Do not make the mistake of thinking you can play underrolled... It is not wise. Maybe this time it worked out for you. But next time it might not. I am pretty sure many of the senior players will emphasize this point.

Now I dont know how you lost 10 BI at 50NL playing perfect... I always try to be honest with myself and say 65% bad luck 35% my bad play. Now I'm not saying it can't happen to be just bad luck, just might want to take a look at all the hands you lost, at least the big ones.

I have 3ptbb/100 winrate over 100k hands and had one 12 buy-in downswing (included in winrate)... I might have tilted last 1 or 2 buy-ins, but even after checking the hand histories of that two sessions I haven't found anything but my normal game.

In higher stakes even bigger swings WILL come.
