Thumbs down Breakeven shmakeven

15K hands now at 25NL. Down around 4 buys. -1.25 ptbb/100.

Just had another bleh session (coolered AA vs TT allin for 100bb preflop, AK vs 99 allin for 60bb vs shorty with dead money in the middle NO JOY, outdrawn with overpair vs flush+strait draw on turn for 100bb).

It's not like I'm getting badly outplayed or running horrible. I just get sucked out almost every single session to where I'm slightly losing to breakeven. I may have 1 session in 4 where I actually make a profit. I just can't seem to string together a bunch of winning pots in a row. It messes with my head. I feel more and more bleh every time I sit down for a session because of how I'm running.

And the thing that's messing with me is I don't know if I'm running normal and my game's just not good or I'm running slightly bad? So I don't want to change my game too much to overadjust.

Suggestions?

[ed: STOP WHINING! I was going to delete this post but too late. This was just a post session whine. I feel good about how I'm playing right now. I'm making a lot of really good reads. Not making many big mistakes. I'll come through on the other end soon.]

Losing 4 buy ins isnt the end of the world and it will definitely happen again. You should post the hands you are talking about so other people can see if you made a mistake somewhere. If you watch Trikkurs last video , it is very clear that beating the micro stakes isnt that easy as everyone says it is. Its alot of hard work and frequently very boring.
For the moment i'm starting with my 200$ to 1k challenge at 10nl and things arent going too well but i'm confident it will turn around as I know i put my money in good or at least with very high equity but sometimes you just have to sit out the bad luck.

ps: i'm probably the last one who should give advice because i'm constantly cursing at my screen when a bad beat occurs

I am in the same boat with 5NL nawhead. Approximately 5K hands (small smaple I know) but I am at -2.5 ptBB/100 and 2.5 buyins down. My graph looks like a freaking cosine wave.

down 10 buyins->up 20 buyins->down 13 buyins

I almost dread playing 5Nl at the moment (am playing 10NL as well : properly rolled). I could do away with 5NL but its a pride thing for me. I want to prove that I am playing well and not doing stupid stuff. Its the suckouts that kill me as well. Go from all-in as an 80% favorite on the flop or turn and have that drop to nada after the turn or river respectively.

I just have to say to myself that it is variance (seems exclusive to 5NL though: tin foil hat time) and that it will pass and I will eventually end up on the right side of the variance tracks.

Hang in there, ride it out and/or play split levels e.g. 1 table 25NL and 1 table 10NL (this can help slow the variance I find, or at least it feels that way)

Is it me or is 5nl harder to beat than 10nl?
