Default Shortstack Ninja FTW!

While I don't usually condone such behavior, at times I find myself getting the urge to do some shorstacking and be one of those annoying asses we all hate at the tables Beat me down, call me names... I don't care

def. has its advantages. However, you do lose value from fish in spots. You just play more tables to offset that.

I approve of this post.

Really, what's so wrong with shortstacking. I've been playing around with shorstacking and there's still plenty of poker to be played between 20-40 bb's.

The only thing I don't like is the shortstacker who doubles up and quits. Especially the guy who does the wait, wait, wait, ALLIN, then quits. I don't do that. But just playing short, the more I play, I realize it's all just poker to me.

While I understand your hate for the double and run, playing with a 40bb stack is just awkward. It just puts you into so many awkward spots that you wouldn't be in as a 20bb or a 100bb stack and eliminates a lot of the overall strategy whether it's full stacked or short.

I'm not very familiar with shortstacking strategy, though I expect for the most part it's limited to waiting for premium hands and playing shove or fold game, am I right?

yes, and not playing small and some mid pocket pairs or suited connectors becuase when such hands hit, they need a chance at 3 streets of betting to make up for all that they lost other times. Also, suited connectors, need to be able to shove as a semibluff, which you can't do & necessarily get people to fold as a short stack.
