i am from the uk but for the purpose of the thread i will use $$. after a recent trip to a casino to play some NLHE me and my friend argued about playing for a living or at least making decent muney on the side he just couldnt or wouldnt understand. so i said ill show you. i said i would run a $200 deposite on cake up to $6000 in 10 weeks.. he accepted and we bet $1000. i can play all forms of poke mtt's plo ect.. so on the 25th of feb 2010 if there is $6000 or more in my account he pays $1000 i think i almost have a freerole here because i only have to be up $1000 and i use that to pay rakeback will cover that, but i realy wana prove a point. i havent played online in over a year. i can win this bet live as i play 5/5 with a 10 straddle. i will play around 30hrs a week 6 tables. i will start a blog so people can follow my progress. please leave thorts and comments or any suggestions on how i can achieve this. |

mojo i dont no were you play live but i wish i new a 1/2 live game that was as soft as 5nl. ive read this alot on forums about people comparing live to online and everyone is saying stuff like 5/10 live is the same as 50nl. were i play this isnt true at all. there are 3 casinos near me and all 3 have tough 1/2 games yea there are some fish and some drunks on weekends but i just cant compare 1/2 live to 5nl. ive played a little poker online this year maybee something like 20 or 30 sessions |

this can probably be done. However, how good are you? Inform all social life, family to GTFO IMO. Tell professors/employers that no one tells a poker player what to do. Eliminate all unnecessary activity. Move your desk to right outside the bathroom. Move microwave and fridge (or at least small fridge) to right next to your computer. The $200 starting point makes it tough because you are going to have to start at such low stakes. At these low stakes, you are going to have to push yourself to play more than 6 tables. It's all ABC, do not bluff, probably don't even cbet bluff. Use the extra time to play more tables. Another challenge is that you aren't going to have good notes on the players. edit: don't play tournaments. PLay cash. Definitely don't play multiple game types- you need to develop reads on the players. Last edited by Silverthunder; 12-14-2009 at 11:59 PM. |

i will try and play 8 tables 10nl to start like i said im gona have two weeks of solid poker so can get in 50hrs + if i dnt run too bad that will give me a chance to reach $6000. i will be playing somee mtt but not till my br is over $1000 as a couple of deep runs could win the bet for me. how goo i am would just be my opinion i most likely think im better than i am but i play 5/10 live twice a month and dnt have any problem beating that. so i gues after reading a few forums i should beat 50nl. ive just dowloaded pt3 for the free trial. never used it so gona mess about with that the next few days the start my first session friday. no one can bet against me its a friendly bet for fun realy, but also to prove a point even if i get to $4000 i will prove my point. if you lay me 3/1 ill bet |
