best free recording software?

A friend wants to rec his cash game session and I will look over his play, what is the best software to do this?

Yeah would like to know if there is any free downloadable software for recording your screen like Camtasia? I know you can get the free months trial and that but i don't have a credit card or anything to give details.

Anyone know of any software like this wouldn't mind making a leak finder video for few of the forum members to sweat!

Camtasia has a free trial and also CamStudio is free.

I wanted to record my second screen and none of the free ones seemed to work, so I tried out Windows Media Encoder - it's free if you own a genuine copy of windows, and does a really nice job or recording to WMV. A little fiddly to use - it's a bit like a video swiss army knife rather than a screen recorder... But it'll do the job.
