How to make videos smaller?

How to make it smaller?

(Step by step please)

what program did you use to record it and what file type is it currently? .AVI....WMV etc...

ok, using Camtasia, you can "produce" the video into a .wmv. The .camrec can only be viewed with Camtasia software. I don't have access to Camtasia on this pc, but I can walk you through tomorrow if you still need help.

yikes, that is large. How long of a video and how much screen were you using?

Uhh 1 hour full-screen.

however, you should be able to get it smaller. I've used camtasia before...Some were during export settings you can set the "quality". Or just use another compression: divx, xvid. can't remember what camtasia offers.
You should bring it down to 100 - 200MB.

Nowdays, internet connections are getting better and better. 100MB is not a great deal.

was just checking some of my vids and I have 1.25gig .camrec that converted down to 120mb in .wmv

camtasia:

- add your .camrec file to a new project
- "produce video as"
- I use "custom settings"
- WMV
- Camtasia studio best quality and file size (recommend)
- I tick "custom size". used 1280 x 576 for two tables. This depends on your record window.

EDIT: 30min video made a ~30MB video.
