Default Trik27 - 20NL Players Only - Super Aggro

I just put up this video and I feel like my explanation of the "gay bet" got muddled and I wanted to explain what it is since it's being used a lot more recently.

Essentially a gay bet (obviously no offense, I'm just using the term that is already assigned for the sake of consistency with the rest of the online poker world) is when you bet out really small like 1/2 pot to get your opponent's calling range to widen significantly. It didn't quite work out in the video, but it would work when you have a hand that figures to be good on a super dry board. In the video I had JJ on a KK4, so essentially you bet 1/2 pot for like 2-3 streets to get your opponents calling range to widen up to be like 66/77/88 etc and call you down.

During the video my opponent raises me on the flop so the plan changed, but I wanted to clarify it because I didn't finish my thoughts.

60/58....just sick.

To play like that you have to read hands/opponents like god, which I find extreme difficult on micro limits. Compared to higher limits the average opp is so unbelievable bad, that betting patterns and stuff simply make no sense at all.
You did a great job in foreseeing opponents actions here, but for me as a Poker Stars player I really feel like Players Only has softer games. On Poker Stars squeezes seem to work like <10% of the time and people keep calling you down with 2nd pair 6 kicker all day long.

It was fun to see you running the tables over (besides the suckout) for an hour before the players where slowly starting to adapt to that.

Besides my lack of skill I think the variance would suck too much for me.

Hi,

I watched the super aggro 20NL vid yesterday and it was amazing!! Especially the beginning is fantastic when Trikkur constantly 3-bets people pre flop and they fold. Even more impressing was his postflop hand reading: "He is betting with top pair medium kicker so if I go ALL INN he will fold". Amazing! Ofcourse after a while people started adapting to it and he should have folded a couple hands in some marginal spots but in the end he was 1 buy in up which I believe is still a very nice result as he got sucked out once for 20BB. I wish I could play like that .

On the other hand I disagree with the statement by Trikkur that players at these limits are mostly donkeys. If I raise 4xBB with AJo in middle position and some unknown three bets me, I am folding like always! Is that donkey? I believe players at these levels, like me, are too afraid to play back at someone raising every hand because we are essentially playing for our stack every time and I dont have a bank roll like him so it hurts when my all in gets cracked. Nonetheless if Trikkur was at my table that time I would have just waited for some monster hand and let him bluf it and stack him. I even think that if Trikkur would have played longer like the way he started the vid, he would end up losing. Ofcourse he can outplay these tables but this is not the way for most of us to play these stakes which he also mentions in the vid. All in all a great enterainment movie which I will even watch again.
Thx Trikkur and keep up the good work.

ps: Does Trikkur play at Full Tilt?

I think he used to play on fulltilt, being that his first vids were on ftp, but he seems to have switched to cake and redstar...obviously a good thing because of the donks on the higher limits there!
I'd switch 2 if i wasn't so used to ftp it's truly the best software out there ...

Pretty awesome video, I'd love to see one like this at $50nl or $100nl (the one I saw was @ $20nl, I'm assuming the thread title was a typo?) where you're raising half your hands...
