Recording software

Ok, i know that Camtasia is the most widely used software out there but I'm not spending $300 for it. I have tried camstudio, but the files end up wayyyyyyyyyyyy tooo large (500mb for 45 mins). Anyone have any recommendations or pointers as to a mistake I'm making in camstudio?

When you convert them, make them in WMV format, not AVI.

hmmm, will have to give that a try I believe that camstudio will do this for me, correct?

When when you go to render it, select WMV instead of AVI.
