The best book I ever read was Sklansky's "No Limit Hold’em: Theory and Practice", but most 2+2 books are very good. So just check out: Two Plus Two - Bonus Page and look, what books match your game

I found that ebook recently - not have worked it through yet, but it looks very solid: http://s3.amazonaws.com/ryanfee/2p2pdf.pdf

I have been wondering what other people think of the fees 6max guide. I think there's some good content in there, but I just hate his writing style so much that it's hard for me to get through more than little chunks at a time.

In Harringtons 2cond tournament book, he talks about headsup.
Collin Moshman is writing a book about headsup tournaments at the moment, I think.

+ you might want to take a look at the essential readings at the buttom of that page: HU Forum Posting Guidelines, FAQ and Essential Reading (Updated 5/30/08) - Two Plus Two Poker Forum
I have not read that myself, cause I don't play HU atm, but should be quite helpful^^

I've slogged my way through it, and while you will get no argument from me that he is an awful writer, there really is some good advice in there if you're willing to put on the hip waders and go in after it.

Cheers,

Default 2+2 books

Hi,
i just recieved mail notice from 2+2 that I can choose 5 books for free but I dont know anyone who actually read any of the books and can recommend me some.

I mainly play texas no limit and limit cash games on the microstakes (25NL-50NL). I should play higher with my bankroll but I feel comfortable at those limits. I dont want books explaining me the rules of texas holdem as I have been playing for a while now but also no books who tell you how to play high stakes.
The Harrington books on cash games (vol I and II) seem interesting but is it useful at the limits I am playing???

Here is the link to all the books I can choose from (2 from section A and 3 from section B). If you've read any of these can you tell me if they are worthwhile. Thx in advance

I wouldn't recommend reading a book from Harrington on cash games. Don't get me wrong. He is an excellent tourney player and that's why his Harrington on Holdem (series for tourneys) is so good. But let's be honest. The man doesn't make his living in cash games. So why even bother to pick up this book for free much less buy it? I would stick with someone more like a Daniel Negreanu who is well versed in either. He would be much more likely to be able to provide good sound advice on strategies for a cash game.

Speaking of which, has anyone read Negreanu's new book?

I've heard that Negreanu's book isnt all that good except for the small ball poker part in one of the later chapters. You can read more in 2+2 forums book reviews.
Thx for the advice. Yes, more people have said that harrington isnt a cash game player and also his cash books are focused on full ring rather than 6max.
