Default general coaching question

hi trikkur,
approx how long does it take for you to see a big change in winrate with you students?
i would love to start getting coached but i cant afford it right now, but do you think it would be helpful to get a coaching session in every now and then or should i just wait until i can afford a couple of session in every week?

Default Trikkur Coaching

I responded to your PM as well, but I figured other people might be interested in this question, so I'll also answer it in the forums.

First off, I'd like to preface this with the fact that I am not taking more students at the moment. I have a lot of stuff to do with the website right now, but trust me, it will be awesome when it is completed. On to the question at hand though.

It's not totally a fair question to ask, because I've coached players at tons of different skill levels. Some players come to me for a quick check up session to see what types of things they can improve on, so we do some Poker Tracker stats and hand analysis and maybe some sweating and they go on there way. Other players are looking for more long term commitment so the first session or two are more in depth analysis looking for leaks in their game. They see improvement very quickly in those specific spots and it really matters how big of leaks they were to know how much it affects their winrate. And then there are also my long term students. I've had 2 students that were with me for more than 3 months and 1 of them is still randomly getting check up lessons. But he improved quickly because of some glaring leaks to start, but then after that we would find more specific leaks here and there that wouldn't be relevant on a session to session basis, but overall improved his game and understanding of the game.
