no specific stats about villain because that's a more general question but assume he is a donkish player PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com UTG ($25.75) MP ($67.85) CO ($49) Button ($114.75) SB ($226.15) Hero (BB) ($135.80) Preflop: Hero is BB with K , Q![]() 2 folds, CO calls $1, 2 folds, Hero raises to $5, CO calls $4 Flop: ($10.50) Q , 3 , 9 (2 players)Hero bets $8, CO calls $8 Turn: ($26.50) 5 (2 players)Hero ? What's the best play here? The flush got there and it's absolutely possible that he hit it. Against a TAGish player it's a std b/f I guess but it sucks against those shortstackers because they can shove any2 here and I'm facing a tough decision... |

I'm not folding TPGK vs a halfstack. His range atm should be from the flush to one-pair hands. So something like A9 should be in his range or a weaker Q like QJ. My play would be to check to him with the intention of crai-shoving, so we might pick off some floats + if a no-diamond card comes on the river, we could make a value bet and should get paid by most of his hands. |

In fact these two ideas also came to my mind and I couldn't figure out which line is the better one. Because in the example above villain was very passive I tended to the first one but surely there are players where I can call bet/call profitably.
