Default 88 on button vs BB 3bet

Villain is a competent player but a bit agressive at times. His overall play is 20/17/2.9 over ~500 hands and has a 19% 3bet from bb vs steal. His fold to 4bet is 0 (only 2 opportunities). Should we be 4betting here and calling a shove or 4bet/fold or flatting pre or folding pre?

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

MP ($79)
CO ($9.85)
Hero (Button) ($282.40)
SB ($103.15)
BB ($200)
UTG ($391.20)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8, 8
3 folds, Hero bets $6, 1 fold, BB raises to $24 Hero?

Since he is so aggressive, I might 4bet 88 for value here. But it's somewhat close.
I'm not a huge fan of 4bet bluffing 88, since we have no block-card.
If we call, we have to call for postflop value and at least call 1 bet on most boards. If he's playing well in 3bet pots and balances his double barreling and stuff I think it becomes more like a 4bet-or fold situation.

I think 4bet/calling 88 requires more history than you've given. 4bet/folding is spew. Calling the 3bet is fine, especially if you've got some postflop reads (especially in reraised pots). Folding is fine too.

I feel like I'm turning my hand face up if I flat here and I agree that if I 4bet I have to call a shove as I'm not 4bet bluffing imo. dunno, interesting spot.

How is it face up? Wouldn't you flat AQ, AJs, KQ, 99, TT, maybe JJ, some suited connectors, and AA and KK some small percentage of the time?
