A little help PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com Hero (MP) ($106.80) Button ($100) SB ($36.65) BB ($46.25) UTG ($100.05) Preflop: Hero is MP with J:heart:, J:spade: 1 fold, Hero bets $3, 1 fold, SB calls $2.50, BB calls $2 Flop: ($9) 2:club:, 3:spade:, 8:club: (3 players) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $5.50, SB calls $5.50, 1 fold Turn: ($20) A:diamond: (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $10, SB calls $10 River: ($40) 4:spade: (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks Total pot: $40 | Rake: $1.95 I think it would be tough to call a river shove- he could have AK and did not want to turn his hand face up on the turn. that is probably giving your average 100NLer too much credit though. If they are half descent, in the blinds, their range should consist of a lot of aces/ pocket pairs. Bet ace/jack river. Maybe there could be some argument made for betting 9 / T rivers or something that pairs one of the cards already on the board? Not sure about all this.. eager to hear other's comments. You don't need to protect your hand on the river and it's probably more likely that he has a draw with an ace than he'd call you with worse (both are unlikely, of course)... So, I think checking back that river is fine. Gotta agree with given, you could cbet a little more on the flop. If you don't, I'd still bet a little more on the turn, although I'm not too happy about that ace. Quote:

you didnt include any reads... anyway, looking at his stacksize i assume he is bad and I wouldve bet more on flop and probably more on turn too. river c behind is std, if he is callingstation id bet any 2, 3, 6-J river unless its a club; cause I feel like if he still thought his hand was good on turn he is very likely to still think its good on a blank river especially if the flushdraw missed; people loooove to call when the obvious draws miss. |
