I know, 3 bet bigger. I think that this size 3 bet carries the same fold equity.

Why are you worried about fold equity when you're 3betting AKs? Is that why you're 3betting this hand this deep? To turn it into a bluff?

Yeah, if he's really such a nit, I don't know if 3-betting is the best option. It really diminishes all of the non-pair potential you have.

a) He's gonna call with a lot of dominated hands
b) By 3betting we'll get the initiative
c) 3betting makes the pot bigger, which makes our positional disadvantage smaller.

Although we're so deep that "c" doesn't really work here, I still think we have to 3bet this every single time. AKs just has too much value and it's hard to play without the initiative OOP...

Also, when the stacks get deeper you should be 3betting more hands... and if you do so while having a thinner value-3betting range, that would be ultra exploitable. He's gonna have the position and he's range is at it's widest (if we don't 3bet) so it'll be very hard to play AKs profitable postflop is we just flatcall.


For something like 150bb I would just shove this pre, but with this stack sizes I think both calling or folding are better. If he is a regular, normally this is a spot where his cold 4betting range is at it's widest (possibly even hands like AQs, 99-JJ)... but when we're 240bb deep, I'm not so sure. If he was an aggro LAG, I would never-ever fold, because this is like a perfect spot for him to cold-4bet bluff.

cold 4bet from a nitty reg... easy fold I guess? I don't see how we should be able to play that profitably vs a very tight range that deep oop.
