Passive as in a horrible calling station when he has any type of hand. He generally called cbets with air but folded if unimproved on the turn. His calling the turn told me he has something.

I'm shoving like 90% at such spots 100bb deep, and get calls quite often. I must have good reasons to bet halfpot or just jam, one can be that the villain's got some brains.

This time you are soo deep... My default would be betting pot - without any other info. If there was some action/history going, I can see open-shoving is a viable option in hope he has like A5 or slowplaying something.

If we bet pot, we may get flat by a naked 2, which would be horrible, not to mention betting pot might get some folds vs non straights, which means we're not definitely getting more value from those hands either, even if, if we know he never has a straight, betting large is somewhat better. The potential for stacking a 2 or 6 is just too great, imo.

I just hate seeing they flat half-pot bet with made straight
No kidding, about 2 weeks ago the guy FLATTED A BET WITH ABSOLUTE NUT FLUSH!!!

My reasoning is:
- loose station => squeeze as much as you can yourself
- others => depends. in the above spot with such player I love 1/2 pot bet

Was thinking this, but mx's description makes me think he will call with a plethora of pairs if we don't overbet.

I think, bet size on the turn is fine. Bad players usually don't pay attention to bet size unless you bet really small or big. Most of the time he will just think "bet" and play vs a bet and not vs a bet-size.
Actually, if we do not plan to double barrel here... I might just c/f flop vs this kind of opponent.

I decided to just openshove here as he was quite a weak player overall and wanted it to look like a bluff. I truly believed that he had some sort of hand when he called the turn bet and thought in the long run I'd get enough calls out of him to make it profitable. I didn't think that he would raise anything other than a 2 here but would call a large bet with much worse. I'm happy to report that he did call and I am not sure if he would have called with something other than what he had. He ended up having Kc 2c. So he flopped a gutshot, turned a flushdraw with it and rivered a straight.
