3 handed bully

Got 3 handed in a STT SNG. Blinds were 50 and 100. I was short stacked down to about 12 bb compared to the chip leader who had roughly 45bb. This guy starts raising every hand to 400 in every position. I wasn't catching anything but rags. I couldn't figure out how to shut him down with the cards that I was getting. I got lucky and he busted out the other guy to put me in the money, but 1st hand HU I had to push with A9s. I was down to 4 or 5 bb. He, of course had AA. Any advice on how to deal with someone that gets a huge chip lead and starts doing that on the bubble?

just follow standard ICM, and hope he knocks the other guy out if you dont pick up any pushable cards.

Depends on how much the 3rd guy has. If u too are close in chips, its better to stay tight until he doubles or busts.

If u are the shortest stack by far, u should shove a lot of hands as first in the pot 3handed. any pocket, any sc(56s+) and 9T+
Aswell u can 3bet shove w any A, KQ type hand to the bully's raise since he has such a wide range.

But basically 3handed its all about surviving and staying alive for 2nd place. So u have to evaluate your situation.

How likely will it be that the other shortstack will bust? if very likely be tight if not get active yourself to not blind down

That is the glory of being the big stack! As the others have stated, it really depends on your stack and the other guys stack.
