Default Experienced Players

Trikkur,

It's a little hard for me personally to identify who the experienced, solid posters/players are here in the forums. It would be nice if there were some way to identify who the more experienced players are and what stakes they play. I enjoy/respect all the replys from all levels, but while trying to improve I would like to lean/give more credit to those who are solid. I do players identified as "senior" but I'm unsure as to what that means other than the length of time someone has been at this site. . Thanks

I don't think this is fair, nor a good idea. Having differing opinions on hands is something players of all limits do. No idea about a hand is going to be a bad thing. It might not be the correct answer that everyone concludes, but thats a part of learning for both the poster and the OP. If there is ever a hand that people can't come to an agreement about, then normally I'll step in or loltrickedu will and give our opinion as well.

Nwodwols i know where you are coming from. Sometimes i hate seeing people whose post count>bankroll giving bad advice to people who plays limits much higher than them. Yeah it brings good discussion and will help improve both players' games, but its still annoying because it might confuse lurkers who might get more confused by the "advice". However, i still believe everyone should give their input on a hand as long as they give good reasoning behind each post.

I guess you can only take each reply as a grain of salt. And just because a good player says to do something doesn't its the right play for you. You should find a game that works for you and just listen to replies with reasoning and choose the one you think works best.

My logic was kind of along the lines of if I went to see a Doctor I'd value his medical opinion higher than someone perhaps a friend giving his thougts on a medically related issue.

I do see what you are saying and I enjoy the forums. thanks for listening

OK,

so you can know where I am at with any replies I may post

Ran $10 free up to $1300 over a 20 or so week period about 4 years back. Lost my roll in a single night of playing when I was on some fairly heavy flu medicine when I was sick. Quit in disgust at myself. Got back into it at the bottom end (6 months or so ago) with $50 (2NL) currently playing 10NL (over rolled) and trying like f&*k to fix leaks. On a break even stretch at the moment. I think I play ok on what limited time (kids, family duties, fulltime work) I have but I could be much better. I dont play for a living, I don't make withdrawals (wishful thinking) since I don't really like cheeseburgers, I do try and study the game, I do try and improve, and I do post responses that I think I would do. Even if my advice is considered wrong the community lets me know and we both learn.

My advice is only ever given from how I see it (as is every ones I guess ). There are a number of solid posters/players here (that you can identify from past posts). Maybe check out the "graphs" posts - hint hint

So there ya have it. Please fell free to ignore my advice at will. I promise I wont be offended. Thats one you can cross off of your list

I think the more opinions the better, then you can assess which play works best for u.

I never said everyone should not give their opinion, I'm all for everyone taking a shot at expressing their thoughts on any given hand me included.

Well, I have to say, that it would be an interesting tool, if ppl could rate the answers of the other members, so you can see whos comments are respected and whos are not so respected.
Only prob might be, that ppl who do not get a good rating might feel offended. Hm, maybe it would be possible to activate that tool in the profile, so you can decide if you want to be rated or not...

Just a suggestion 4 PokerTriks 2 ^^

The point for a forum is for everyone who participates to improve. Even if someone's answer to a problem isn't well-regarded, hopefully they can see where other people's opinions differ from theirs and learn something. People whose posts don't get rated well or whatever would be less inclined to post. Besides, if you post enough hands over time you'll eventually learn whose responses you feel give the best advice.
