Default Several hundred comments on vid pages

I've been noticing on your old videos there are about 100 comments from spammers that clog up the page. Can we flag these or something?

Yea, even though I've blocked the spammers links from working, they continue to do it. My programmer disappeared before I ever got him to install some sort of admin settings for me to edit them all.

I will make sure to clean them up when I redo the site, but it's going to be almost impossible for me to do it as the site is now.

You don't have access to the html? Those web pages aren't dynamicly pulling the comments from a database, so you can remove all of the spam by simply editing the html directly.

Then add a captcha box to the form. It's not a guaranteed solution, but it will get rid of the lazy attackers, which most of these f*cks are. If they get persistent, there's more measures you can take, but start with a captcha for now and see how it goes.

These aren't really spammers by the way. These are just dipsh*t vandals who, by entering "nice site" over and over, are saying "your form isn't spam-proof, and I'm just the loser to show you, ELL OH ELL."

If you need any help, I'd be happy to try. I appreciate all of the free videos, etc.

The problem is everything has been coded into a custom CMS. When Joe, the programmer, quit working on it, not everything was completed. I don't have anything in my CMS that allows me to edit the actual video comments, which is why I wanted to the forum posts to be linked from the video page.

I have considered remaking PokerTrikz again, but it's way more work than I could ever imagine and I would hate to waste everything that has been done already for this site.

In that case, the simplist fix is probably to strip out the part of the CMS code that generates the comments-box for each new video page. Should be fairly straight-forward. Then just say "please visit the forums to read and post comments on the videos", and let them find their way to the corresponding threads. Coding the auto-generation of the forum links would be a little more involved, as would adding the forum links manually after videos have been posted, so that may not be realistic for the moment.

Anyway, the solution definitely doesn't require remaking the site. Some of the changes you need to make can't be done through the CMS, in its current form, but you can still make them with some fairly simple edits to the html - like to get rid of the vandalism.

If you'd like some help with any of this, PM me.
