Default VIDEO DISCUSSION: mxrider 5 - 4 tables of 100nl

**THIS THREAD IS FOR DISCUSSION OF mxrider 5 - 4 tables of 100nl**

After having a pretty brutal day, I decided to record a session looking to plug some leaks in my game as I try and become comfortable with 100nl. This is meant to be more of a video to get feeback versus one of instruction. It's a rather lengthy session of about 75 min.

Just got done watching the video. I thought you played pretty well overall. There were a few preflop spots that i disagreed with that I can recall.

1. You 3bet AJ out of the blinds to an LP steal then call a smallish 4bet. Your generally going to be way behind most players 4bet value range. If he has a really tight 3bet defending range perhaps calling might be better to keep some of the weaker aces and other hands in his range, that he otherwise might fold to your 3bet. Then you can consider c/ring some flops with 2overs, gutshots, etc, if he has a high cbet %. Are you 3betting here as a bluff, for value(he calls with worse), or because he folds to 3bets so often that it is immediatley profitable and your cards dont matter.

2. A2s the hand where you call a co raise and flop a straight that loses to a flush from the blinds. IMO this hand is too weak to just call with, I think 3betting or folding is a much better option. When you call you setup aggressive blinds for good squeezing situations. I think this hand has a lot more value when you have initiative, which gives you a better chance of stealing preflop or on the flop.

3. 33 you raise otb and defend against a 3bet from the blinds. I think you have 10-1 implied odds when you call. You say you are calling to setmine. I believe this spot is superthin, when you flop a set you have to stack him a very high percentage of the time for this call to be profitable. I don't know what his 3bet% is from the blinds, but I believe it has to be supertight for you to be doing this unless hes really spewwy postflop. If his blind 3betting range is as wide as yours for instance, he is printing money when he cbets the flop after 3betting.

4. AKs 3bet pot (when phone rings) I think you played this ok, the flop cbet is kind of on the large side, but i dont mind it since theres about 15 or so cards on the turn that improve your equity enough to set you up for a shove. Without the club on the flop I think bet/folding for a smaller amount could be better. I'm not sure whether your line is optimal or not but I dont see a ton of significantly better options against this unknown. With 30% equity on the turn I think he only has to fold somewhere around 30-40% of the time for it to be +ev.

Thats all i can think of for now. If you disagree with any of this or have any specific hands in there you want analysis on plz let me know.

Rich

Right as your HUD fires up, table 1 looks awful. The other tables don't look great. This is something I mention on almost every single one of your vids.

3:00 table 3 - I think you need to bluffraise flops like this some of the time in order to profitably cold call 75s OTB.

5:20 table 3 - I lead the turn after the flop checks through with your JJ on the A-high board.

6:20 table 3 - I open T7s on the CO.

6:55 table 4 - The SB opens into your BB. You fold Q9s. I would rather defend or 3bet than fold.

7:45 table 2 - The SB (no stats because it's your first hand at the table, so the HUD hadn't popped up yet) opens into your BB. You flat A7o. I would rather 3bet or fold than flat.

12:30 table 4 - I squeeze AQs OTB.

15:00 table 2 - I think you need to bet much bigger on the turn to charge flush draws to see the river.

24:15 table 4 - It's hard to comment on your straight vs. flush hand without knowing more about villain. You didn't go over your HUD, so I can't even tell what stats you have on him. If he's aggressive postflop, I think the stackoff is fine. If he's a station, it's suspect.

27:30 table 3 - the SB complete with T9s is pretty marginal--but all the options are in that spot. I hate lead/call the flop and lead the turn as a postflop line. Your turn action lets him play perfectly against you by folding all his bluffs and worse hands and shoving all better.

34:30 table 2 - You made a thread about this hand. I commented about your poor bet-sizing in the thread.

42:15 table 1 - A6o on the CO is a pretty light open, especially considering all the pretty hands you've been folding in the same spot.

43:15 table 2 - I hate the turn c/r. You barely got more money in with it than you would with a bet, and it's disastrous when he checks back.

47:10 table 3 - calling a 4bet OOP with AJs from a guy that folds to 3bets 100% up till that point is just really bad. Just pitch it.

54:40 table 4 - Your 4bet is too big. You're not quite committing yourself to call a 5bet shove, but you're still spending more than you need to to fold out the same range as if you made it ~25.

58:00 table 4 - calling a 3bet OOP with 99 with 100bb stacks is not great.

61:00 table 3 - I guess this is that gross KK hand you posted. I gave my comments in the thread.

65:30 table 2 - your cbet sizing is bad. You made it bigger than it needed to be to get fold equity, but not big enough that you could shove the turn for a PSB. As played, you should have shoved the turn.

66:30 table 4 - I don't think calling a 3bet with 33 there is going to be profitable in the long run.

69:00 table 4 - I don't think cbetting air in a 5way pot is ever going to be profitable.

It would be nice if you made a shorter vid next time. It took me almost 2 hours to watch it and make these notes.

Thanks for the comments. I really do appreciate it.

Given, This video ended up longer than I had originally intended and I really do appreciate you taking the time to review this. A lot of your comments that you made were about bet sizing which I haven't fully grasped in my overall play but your comments in the threads about the individual hands have really gotten me thinking more about that as it seems to be a common theme. Secondly, regarding the table selection, with the hours that I am playing, I really can't find much better. I'm not the best by any means at closing tables and finding new ones when I am in the middle of a session ( working on that) but this is pretty much what I have to work with overall.

I'll be rewatching the video today with all of these comments open. Thanks to you both.
