i agree as i am playing it and want to see how people play versus multi-tablers as well as people who have good Preflop stats but postflop there weak, such as working out optimal lines and how far you should read into things such as bet sizing or timing tells or min raises. I have a bad habit of overthinkign hands or giving too much respect to players

Helpful for me too as I struggle at 10NL on FT far more than on Redstar. I have a difficult time to deal with aggression and low respect of my cbets.

$20 full stacked all in pots. Full Tilt: you get $18 back, $10 was yours so you make $8 Redstar: you get $19 back, $10 was yours so you make $9 $8/$9 = 88.8% so you are losing slightly over 11% profit playing 10NL at Full Tilt. |

10NL at Full Tilt is a killer. Thanks to BoomSwitch for doing that math for everyone. I hope you can realize why the rake actually matters so much more. In 1 all in pot, you end up not winning 5BBs (that's a great hourly win rate in itself) because of the rake.

I really feel that even boomswitch's math doesn't illustrate the extent of how horrible 10% rake REALLY is. If I remember correctly, with 5% rake at around 10NL my profit at 6PTBB/100 was comparable to the amount of rake I paid, that is for every 100 bucks I made, I had paid about 100 bucks in rake. You do not lose just 11% profit. 10% rake is TWICE the rake! Unless I am brainfarting, with 10% rake, I would have been just about breakeven. At 10NL. |
